I'd love to know what you think about my web site. Please leave your comments in this public guest book so I can share your thoughts with other visitors. You can also email me directly at Storybookcavies@aol.com Remote User: CommentsWe are looking for a guinea pig or two for our family and by April 10, 2010, but yours all look so cute!! We are fans of the white and gray and brown and golden. They are all so adorable Thank you :) If you want to know what I have currently available, the best way to find out is to directly email me at Storybookcavies@aol.com It may take me a few days to reply, depending on the amount of school work I am currently buried under, but I try to respond ASAP. -Manda Remote User: CommentsI currently have two guinea pig sows (Cuddles and Chestnut) but do not plan to show them. When i saw this web site i thought that i might want to show cavies that i get in the future. luv this site, i have my own (amoncenter.com) also about guinea pigs. Very cool! Thanks for dropping a line. Showing is a lot of fun, but it can become addicting ;) -Manda Remote User: CommentsI absolutely love your website! Fantastic information about breeds, showing, grooming, health. Everything is right here. Great job! I especially love the little details like ear tags and wrapping. Not too many websites have such good clear pics. and descriptions. Well done! Kelly - Alberta, Canada Thank you very much! Comments like yours motivate me to keep the website going and... mm... update it more often ;) -Manda Remote User: CommentsGreat Cavy information! Thank you. Yours are lovely. I don want to point out though, on your info about the Teddies, you stated that some people call them Teddy bears but that that is a type of hamster.. It is not. As a breeding of SYRIAN hamsters, people ask about it all the time. It, like with cavies, is an annoying pet shop nickname that should be avoided. Thanks you. Rebekah Winterbell Hamstery That is very interesting - thank you for letting me know! Those pet stores... -Manda Remote User: Commentshello Amanda, i love the storybook. im new in this field for taking care of cavies i know i have to learn more about cavies and im learning as the day goes by. im interested of having a purebred (pedigree) american (or american satin) G.P. with roman nose both boar and sow for breeding. pls help with this pls. thanks. pls email me at bernzriverayahoo.com I don't have any cavies available right now, but I've got quite a few planned litters. The black longhairs are striking. I really like the Tans as well, though they're not technically recognized here in the US yet. -Manda Remote User: Commentstyq4ny Really? Interesting. -Manda Remote User: CommentsHi! Your website is sooo helpful and your artwork and photography look awesome! Thank you very much! -Manda Remote User: CommentsKudos! What a neat way of tihnknig about it. Thank you... I think... Haha. -Manda Remote User: CommentsDo you have to belong in a 4H club to show your pig, or can you come alone? I am seriously considering showng this year, but my mom does not really want me joining 4H again this year. Two years ago I did not get to show because the show was on my birthday. Then this year I did not get to show because my pig died a month before Youth Expo. Rest in peace, Snuggles. Guinea Pigs Rule!!!!! Hello! Well, that depends on what kind of showing you are interested in. If you are interested in showmanship, there are definitely more opportunities through 4-H. If you are interested in breed shows, or ARBA/ACBA sanctioned shows, you can show independently with no problem. There have been quite a few shows lately at the San Bernardino fairgrounds, not sure how much of a drive that is for you. You don't need to be a part of any group to show there, just a piggy to show. And I think you may have one now ;) If you want more info, just email me at Storybookcavies@aol.com and I'll forward show info your way when I get it. Hope your new piggies are doing well! -Manda Remote User: CommentsGreat web site. Where are you located? We are looking for 2 baby piggies to add to our family. ROBIN Thank you! I am located in Southern CA. If you would like more info, please feel free to email me at Storybookcavies@aol.com. -Manda
Remote User: CommentsThanks for the wonderful pigs! Nutmeg and Ginger are doing great. They really love their spinach. Especially Gingi. All of my friends are so jealous of them! Glad they have settled in :) -Manda Remote User: CommentsHello again! I have a question... what will a sows bottom half look like when she is in heat? We are trying to record the girls cycles. Well, it's a bit hard to tell with guinea pigs because they are so small. Often times sows in heat will mount one another or make purring noises like boars. -Manda Remote User: CommentsCould you please tell me what type is? "Type" is a term that refers to the overall build/structure of a cavy. A cavy with good type will be blocky and stocky, and the same width from head to rump. A cavy with weak shoulders, crown, or poor body build has poor type. -Manda Remote User: CommentsWhat makes a nose roman? Genetics. ;) As for distinguishing it from other kinds of noses, a roman nose is neither a half-circle nor is it completely flat. It's slightly rounded. -Manda
