One tell-tale sign that your cavy is not feeling well is if they stop eating. If your cavy stops eating, you need to find out what is the matter fast.

NOTE: Penicillin and other penicillin derivative antibiotics are TOXIC to cavies.

There are many health problems that can afflict our little friends. It is best to know about as many as possible of them so that we can recognize problems early on and have them treated. It is ALWAYS best to take your pig to a cavy-knowledgeable vet's if you can't diagnose your pig's problem, or if it has something wrong with it that you can't easily treat yourself.
Please note: I am not a vet, or in any way pretending to be. The treatments described are treatments that I myself have used and have found helpful. If something happens to your pig that cannot be treated by a very simple home remedy, please do not hesitate to call your vet!
