Saline Solution
This is very good for washing out wounds and eyes. As
it is a sterile solution, it can be used for many things |
Lubricating jelly
Good for assisting with difficult births.

Gatorade
Good for
nursing/sick cavies, for electrolytes; and sugar for pigs at shows; for
dehydrated pigs, and for stressed, nursing or pregnant pigs. Pedialyte
can also be used. |

Syringes
1 cc are more important than 3cc, but both are
helpful. Use for force-feeding (without the needle!!!)and administering
medications. Also helpful for measuring medications. |
Cotton balls and Q-tips
Very helpful for cleaning ears, wounds, etc.

Pill splitter and pill
administrator
Nice for crushing medicine, vitamin C tablets, Calcium
tablets and other medications. The force - feeder is good for giving
pills without being bitten. |

Baby cereal
For feeding sick or young pigs. The best kind is the
rice or wheat-based. |
Vick's or other vapor rub
Good for pigs with colds or congestion. Put a little
around cage and above nose. Also good to dab on top of noses and rumps
of pigs being introduced to each other (so that they only smell the
rub), and it's easier to introduce them. |
Eyedropper
Serves same purpose of syringe, but a holds a little
more. Some pigs like this better because it's easier to drink from. |
