Coronets

There is a wide selection of cavy dishes and accessories available through KW Cages

Food Bowls

When looking for a food bowl, you want a dish that is heavy or stable, and that will hold a sufficient amount of food. It seems that no matter how high or stable your feed dish is, the piggies will still manage to poo in them, so don't worry if you see the poos in the food dish (it must be a game to them or something, little stinkers...).

Below are some examples of dishes I use/have used and have been happy with.

Gravity Feeder

This is an excellent feeder for a cage with many cavies

Ceramic Crock

A nice, heavy crock works well

Plastic Coop Cup

These are 8 oz plastic cups that attach to the side of the cage

E-Z Crock

This 8 oz plastic cup locks onto the side of the cage - great for cavies who like to tip their bowls over

Water Bottles

Water bowls can be used but they get tipped over constantly, get the bedding wet, are very messy, and are not recommended.

You can use wire or bottle hangers to attach bottles to the cage, but companies such as KW make and sell spring bottle attachments that are wonderful. Small bungee cords can also be used. Try to get the largest size bottle that you can. KW also sells some awesome bottle brushes for cleaning bottles.

Tip: if your cavy loves to play with its water bottle, stick a coop cup underneath the nozzle to catch excess water. You can also put a clean brick underneath the nozzle - the brick will soak up the water and is a nice cool spot for your piggy.

I have some pigs who like to play with their water bottles. I caught one boar leaning against the side of the cage, tongue on the nozzle, just letting it dribble down his chin and soak the bedding. Stinker.
